Are you an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation Technician ready for your next challenge in the renewable energy sector?

Based primarily at the Carrick site in Girvan, with travel to Tamside in Glasgow, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure plant safety and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate PLCs, SCADA systems, and process instrumentation, including pressure, flow, and temperature measurement.
  • Accurately input maintenance data into the CMMS to support a data-driven decision-making culture.
  • Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments (RAs), and other safety protocols.
  • Support root cause analysis to resolve recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the integration of capital projects and maintain critical spare parts inventory.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by adhering to company policies and reporting unsafe acts or conditions.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with hands-on expertise in electrical maintenance and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems (RSLogix 5000/FactoryTalk preferred), and COMPEX/ATEX regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively without guidance.
  • Competent in following SOPs and RAs, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Qualifications: HNC in Engineering Practice/Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or completion of a relevant Modern Apprenticeship.

Desirable Skills:
  • Ability to modify ladder logic and graphics in PLC systems.
  • Experience with Endress+Hauser instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems such as Agility, Maximo, or SAP.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification and current Electrical COMPEX (EX01-EX04).
