Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with environmental and operational legislation across landfill gas (LFG) and generation sites.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on gas engines and associated plant equipment (pumps, motors, LV electrical, etc.).
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification of both electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Manage gas field operations to optimise fuel supply and generator output.
  • Support generator commissioning, testing, and breakdown response—including participating in a 1-in-4 weekend on-call rota.
  • Maintain accurate records, report incidents, and promote high standards in health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal engineers and third-party experts to resolve technical challenges effectively.
  • Maintain fleet vehicles and ensure proper documentation is completed for all on-site activities.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role (LFG, CHP, process plant, energy from waste, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of environmental and health & safety compliance.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical plant and systems.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to managing workload and travel.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • A qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering is desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence – this is essential due to the field-based nature of the role.
