Overview:
Join a dynamic maintenance team as an Electrical/Instrumentation Maintenance Technician, supporting two renewable energy sites in Carrick (Girvan) and Tamside (Glasgow). This role is essential to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical equipment and systems. You’ll be instrumental in managing planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting PLC and SCADA systems, and driving data-led decision-making to maximize asset uptime. The Role:
As part of the maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for carrying out assigned maintenance work safely and to the highest standard, following a comprehensive maintenance plan. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you’ll play a crucial role in addressing plant issues swiftly and accurately, minimizing downtime, and protecting company assets. You’ll work with PLCs, SCADA, and associated equipment, utilizing your knowledge of COMPEX/ATEX regulations to ensure compliance and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance tasks, focusing on maximizing plant uptime and protecting assets.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments (RAs) rigorously to ensure high standards and safe operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for reactive maintenance, supporting continuous improvement.
- Enter data accurately in the CMMS (Agility, Maximo, or SAP) to support trend analysis and informed decision-making.
- Manage spare parts and consumables, ensuring inventory levels meet site requirements.
- Contribute to capital project integration, working closely with the site and maintenance teams.
- Identify training needs, complete required training, and ensure training records are maintained.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong team ethic, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
- Experienced with PLCs, SCADA systems (RSLogix 5000/Factory Talk preferred), and process instrumentation maintenance.
- Knowledgeable in COMPEX/ATEX regulations, and able to perform calibration and fault-finding.
- Familiar with SOPs, RAs, permit-to-work systems, and CMMS systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential: HNC in Electrical Engineering, Modern Apprenticeship, or equivalent N/SVQ level 3.
- Preferred: Electrical COMPEX (EX01-EX04) certification, City & Guilds 2382-22 18th Edition, IOSH Managing Safely.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role within a comparable industry, maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Valid driver’s license required, with willingness to travel between Carrick and Tamside sites.
Location & Benefits:
