Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and technically savvy Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Energy from Waste (EFW) sector with a pioneering environmental SME. This company is a leader in supplying cutting-edge products, technology, and installation services across wastewater, municipal waste, EFW, and various industrial sectors. With recent investments in advanced EFW technologies, they are poised for expansion, and they need a strategic professional to spearhead this journey.
The Role:
As a senior member of the business development team, you will be instrumental in crafting and executing strategies to expand market presence in the EFW sector. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will have a unique opportunity to lead initiatives that identify and convert new business opportunities, cultivate client relationships, and position the company’s EFW solutions effectively. Your work will encompass engaging with clients at all levels, from initial pitching to securing substantial equipment contracts, while staying attuned to evolving industry regulations and incentives.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying and cultivating new business prospects, partnerships, and market opportunities within the EFW sector.
Developing strategies to convert leads and sustain growth with existing clients.
Creating and delivering compelling technical and sales presentations both virtually and in person.
Maintaining industry insights, staying informed on regulatory and market trends, and actively engaging in sector-related events and conferences.
Collaborating with engineering and proposal teams to ensure solutions are perfectly tailored to client needs.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
A proven track record of successful capital or process equipment sales within the EFW industry.
Extensive network and solid knowledge of EPC contractors and end users, with specific experience in anaerobic digestion (AD) solutions.
Strong marketing acumen, capable of launching and driving impactful marketing campaigns.
Technically proficient, with the ability to interpret drawings, understand complex client needs, and propose viable solutions.
A proactive communicator, both technically and commercially, with skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of contributing effectively within a close-knit team.
Location & Benefits:
The role offers flexibility with a UK-wide base and regular visits to the head office in Kent. National and international travel is essential to meet with clients and industry stakeholders.
