An exciting opportunity awaits a Junior Project Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team working within the renewable energy sector. Based in Girvan, Scotland, this role supports a wide range of project activities, from scoping and tendering to hands-on project delivery and client handover. The Role:
As a Junior Project Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with the Operations team, helping to scope new projects, manage tender submissions, and oversee the procurement of subcontractors and materials. Reporting to the Engineering Projects Implementation Leader, you will play a key role in implementing the commercial strategy, managing risk, and ensuring the highest standards in safety, health, and environmental compliance. From inception to handover, your role will involve continual monitoring, troubleshooting, and improvement to ensure projects meet Grissan’s standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Operations to scope new projects, ensuring designs align with budget and timelines.
- Manage tender processes for subcontractors and suppliers, achieving procurement targets.
- Implement and track project targets, with a focus on cost forecasting and risk management.
- Develop project-specific Quality Plans, monitoring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
- Prepare detailed project handover documentation, including O&M manuals and As Fitted drawings, ensuring zero defects upon handover.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across multiple operations sites, monitoring KPIs and fostering supplier partnerships.

- Strong commitment to continuous improvement, safety excellence, and environmental responsibility.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proficient in using technical knowledge to identify and resolve project-related challenges, either independently or by collaborating with colleagues.
- Commercially aware, optimizing resources while meeting project goals and deadlines.
- Excellent IT skills, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Project (or similar).
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering Project Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields.
- Full, ideally clean, driving license and access to own vehicle, as travel to various sites is required.
Desirable Experience:
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related engineering discipline.
