Overview:

An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to oversee the maintenance operations at sites in Invergordon. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, meeting maintenance and production targets, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. With a focus on data-driven decision-making, the Maintenance Team Leader will manage a dedicated team, ensuring the highest safety, quality, and operational standards.

The Role:

As the Maintenance Team Leader, you’ll lead and manage all maintenance activities, working closely with the Site Leader to set and achieve site KPIs and budget targets. This role involves planning, resource allocation, and monitoring compliance with safety and environmental standards. You’ll be involved in fault diagnosis, manage preventive maintenance, and play a pivotal role in shutdown planning and post-shutdown reviews. This position is ideal for a proactive leader with a solid engineering background and experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maintenance Plan, ensuring adherence to compliance, legal, and operational standards.
  • Prioritize, assign, and oversee maintenance requests, ensuring timely and safe completion of reactive tasks.
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring faults and initiate preventive strategies.
  • Support shutdown planning and execution, including resource management, spare parts inventory, and post-event analysis.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are accurately logged in the CMMS to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Work with the Site Leader and Accountant to manage and monitor maintenance budgets effectively.
  • Establish Service Level Agreements and maintain regular assessments with suppliers and contractors.
  • Implement safe systems of work, ensuring all permits, risk assessments, and SOPs are in place and consistently followed.
  • Assist with third-party audits, ensuring compliance with PAS110 and local regulatory standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing or leading a maintenance team and supporting operational targets.
  • Proactive in safety and compliance practices, including knowledge of permit-to-work systems and quality management standards.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with experience in data analysis and trend recognition.
  • Excellent communicator with strong organizational skills and a strategic approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in IT, especially with Excel, and knowledgeable about maintenance management systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: HND in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience), strong Mathematics background, and a full UK driver’s license.
  • Preferred: IOSH Safety Certificate, Six Sigma training, experience with Anaerobic Digestion or similar operations, and auditing skills.
  • 5+ years in a similar manufacturing or renewable energy setting, with proven experience in maintenance planning and execution.
